Choosing the right system

Start by matching crop water demand, planting density and available water source to an appropriate delivery method. Use drip for closely spaced beds, micro‑sprinklers for tree crops, and sprinklers or pivots for broadacre plantings. Prioritise filtration and pressure control for long-term reliability.

Assess water

Source flow, quality and pressure determine feasible system types and filter needs.

Match emitters

Choose PC emitters for uniformity or fixed-flow for low-cost layouts.

Control & fertigation

Add valves, timers and dosing if you need zonal control and nutrient injection.

Quick sizing tips

  1. Area: Measure field area (m² or ha) to determine lateral lengths.
  2. Emitter flow: Sum emitter flows per lateral to get required system flow (L/s).
  3. Pump head: Calculate static head + friction losses to select pump head (m).
  4. Pressure control: Use regulators and PC emitters to even out performance across rows.
